The National Science Foundation has granted ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï $500,000 to upgrade its high-performance computing cluster, accelerating research and undergraduate education in ºÚÁϳԹÏ’s STEM departments and beyond.

Despite the dire warnings that artificial intelligence will create major disruptions to the economy, higher education, and society as a whole, AI expert Avi Goldfarb remains optimistic about its potential.

In the summers of 2019 and 2020, ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï professors Krista Ingram and Ahmet Ay set course for Casco Bay, Maine, with student researchers Lauren Horstmyer ’22 and Hailey Orff ’24. Together, they captured thousands of images of harbor seals for SealNet.
